Twice Told

Midjourney was used to create a series of images of young women, styled with 1940’s hair and clothing while standing in a garden of classical statues and columns. An animal or bird was being held in each image by the subject to represent a connection to nature and the animal spirit. Upon choosing an image generated by Midjourney in which I found I had an emotional connection with, I chose other images in the same series to extract elements to create the final piece by collaging in Photoshop. The samples submitted show the image as it was originally, the image chosen to clip out the background to use as a layer , the result of that process in color prior to creating the final monochromic image. Stripping away the color was to bring the focus directly to the emotional aspect of the image rather than its beauty.
