Frequently Asked Questions about AIMA Clash

The AIMA Tag Team Award is a dedicated category for collaborative AI creation. This page answers common questions about participation, submissions, evaluation, and awards.

What is the AIMA Tag Team Award?

The AIMA Tag Team Award is a quarterly award recognizing collaborative AI artworks created by two artists working together as a single creative unit.

How many artists can participate per submission?

Exactly two artists per submission.

Do both artists need to submit separately?

No. One submission covers both artists and represents one shared artwork and creative process.

Is this evaluated differently from other AIMA categories?

Yes. The Tag Team Award has its own evaluation framework focusing on collaboration, role clarity, and creative synergy.

What do the winners receive?

The winning team receives two physical AIMA Tag Team Awards, one for each artist, shipped individually. 🏆
In addition, both artists receive the official AIMA Tag Team laurels and a featured presentation across AIMA channels. ⭐

Second and third place teams receive two official AIMA Tag Team laurels, one for each artist. ⭐

Are the awards shipped to the artists?

Yes. Each award is shipped individually to the respective artist’s doorstep.

Is a theme required?

Yes. Each quarter is guided by a conceptual theme that serves as a creative frame. Artists are free to interpret the theme openly and are not required to follow a literal or predefined narrative.

Can I participate alone?

No. The Tag Team Award is exclusively for collaborations between two artists. Solo submissions are not eligible for this category.

Where can I find a collaborator for the Tag Team Award?

Artists are free to collaborate with any partner of their choice. To support artists who are looking for a collaborator, AIMA provides access to the dedicated CRTVS Tag Team Space, designed specifically for co-creation and collaboration.

Within this space, artists can:

  • introduce their style and strengths

  • connect with others interested in collaboration

  • follow active AIMA Tag Team Award quarters

Artists can explore the CRTVS Tag Team space here:

Is there a submission fee?

Yes. The Tag Team Award has a submission fee that applies per team, not per individual artist. The current fee is listed on the official submission page.

Can I submit more than one Tag Team project?

Yes. Artists may submit multiple Tag Team projects, as long as each submission represents one distinct artwork and collaboration. Each submission must be submitted separately.

Can I participate in other AIMA categories?

Yes. Participation in the Tag Team Award does not restrict other submissions.
