THE ALIEN is a conceptual industrial design project presented through an AI-generated luxury advertising campaign. At its center is an original sunglasses design whose sculptural geometry, violet mirrored lenses and integrated construction transform a functional object into a symbol of individuality. Inspired by retro-futuristic visual culture and contemporary fashion photography, the project combines industrial design, luxury aesthetics and subtle visual humor to celebrate the courage of being unapologetically yourself.
The project began with designing an object rather than creating images. Every element of the sunglasses—from their geometry and folding mechanism to the color of the lenses—was developed to support a single design concept: elegance without visual noise. Once the object existed, I built an entire visual identity around it through a fictional luxury advertising campaign. Retro-inspired styling, optimistic color palettes, editorial photography and carefully placed humor became tools for presenting the design in a memorable and emotionally engaging way. Rather than illustrating the product, the campaign gives it cultural context and a distinct personality.
The title THE ALIEN comes from the double meaning of the word itself. It is not about extraterrestrials—it is about the feeling of being different. The project explores individuality through design rather than explanation. Instead of presenting difference as something dramatic, I chose optimism, elegance and quiet humor. The campaign draws inspiration from the optimistic retro visions of the future found in the 1970s and 1980s, while using contemporary creative technologies to reinterpret them. My goal was to imagine a product that does not exist, yet feels believable enough to belong in the real world—and to tell its story with warmth, irony and emotional clarity.
