Short Description
This is the commodification of nature taken to its extreme, presented in a glossy, transparent plastic bag and carried by an individual. Whether this individual is human or alien remains an open question.
The object appears to belong to a fashion campaign or runway moment—contexts known for their polished aesthetics and their ability to sell desire disguised as meaning.
In this case, what is being sold is a snow-covered mountain range. A landscape reduced to scale, sealed and portable, so it can be looked at all times. A replica sourced from the Himalayas or the Andes—you may choose.
The object serves a dual purpose. In its most optimistic interpretation, it functions as a reminder of nature’s beauty and majesty, allowing its carrier to project an identity of care: a naturalist, an ecologist, someone who belongs to the landscape they display.
In its more twisted and pessimistic reading, the object offers only the image—nature’s most superficial and consumable layer—encased in cheap, durable plastic. What is preserved is not the mountain, but its appearance.
The meaning is not yours to decide. It exists simultaneously, intrinsically, and by the time the contradiction becomes visible, it will already be too late.
Thanks for buying.
Process
I started to image how aliens would carry souvenirs from our earth’s nature and later would wear them in street style in space.
