This work explores the tension between softness and strength, drawing from the language of streetwear and couture. The iridescent textures, layered gold chains, and bold stance echo the aesthetics of high-fashion editorial while retaining the raw defiance of urban influence. Sugar & Steel embodies a duality—feminine and unyielding, luminous yet armored—claiming space with unapologetic authority.

Process
As you can see from the five highlighted iterations and the more than one hundred versions created in the process, the greatest challenge was achieving the right balance of design, couture, lighting, and eye contact without overwhelming the composition. I worked to preserve the full presence of the boots while maintaining an editorial high fashion stance. The final piece captures that equilibrium, showcasing the clothing through a pose that feels both powerful and refined. I worked to balance editorial high fashion with bold presence—ensuring the model’s boots remained fully framed while still capturing the commanding stance. The final result highlights both the clothing and the pose, bringing together the essence of streetwear and couture in a singular vision.
