Liquid Identity
Short Description
Liquid Identity examines desire as a fluid cultural condition shaped by contemporary visual economies. Through controlled melting and subtle distortions, the work explores how identity shifts from fixed symbol to perceptual state, where value and self become unstable rather than permanent. The replacement of the expected luxury initial with the letter “I” redirects visual language from brand identity toward personal identity, proposing beauty as a fragile surface continuously shaped by perception, time, and systems of digital reproduction.
Prompt Logic
AI was used as a perceptual simulator rather than a stylistic generator. The process amplifies material seduction while introducing controlled instability, examining surface tension and symbolic transformation within luxury visual language as a cultural system.
Process
The work evolved through a recursive dialogue between algorithmic generation and human intervention, where material seduction was constructed and then subtly destabilized.
Hyperreal surface textures were refined to heighten sensory presence, while controlled distortions shifted the image away from commercial perfection toward perceptual tension.
Rather than decorative effects, these minimal disruptions function as structural elements revealing the instability underlying contemporary visual culture and luxury imagery.
Through this iterative process, the work moves beyond aesthetic simulation into a conceptual space where desire is experienced as both seductive and unstable — a condition shaped by perception, time, and digital systems.
