The work is part of the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Collection. The image coincides with a series of images inspired by the element of water and the human body’s reactions to intimate contact with this particular material, in various environmental contexts. “Lessons In Love” depicts a girl gazing toward the lens, immersed in a transparent, pinkish liquid. Her physical appearance expresses a fragmentation and leveling through the translucent texture of a sheath that can be compared to the skin.
The image is the result of several iterations, where descriptive elements such as a setting with Art Deco architecture, a bathtub, a girl in a bathing suit, and a surreal, plastic aesthetic are recurring elements in the syntographic iteration. The influence of the “Bathub” series—focused on surreal scenarios with versatile aesthetic value—also played a decisive role in the creation of the image.
