Corda Mortis – The string of death
Short Description
Corda Mortis — The String of Death is a demoness whose lute is an instrument of pure ruin. Serene, sovereign, and utterly merciless, she plays forbidden chords that turn sound into suffering, driving demons, dragons, and mortals into unbearable agony. With a final note, she brings absolute silence — and death.
Prompt Logic
Corda Mortis, The String of Death, a powerful female demon seated at the center of a vast infernal hall, playing a dark mystical lute. She is regal, terrifying, and calm, with a commanding presence, elegant demonic features, dark red skin, long horns, and a sinister expression. Around her, grotesque demons and monstrous dragons gather in a grand hellish court. The architecture is monumental and gothic, filled with skulls, carved bones, towering columns, firelight, and a dark throne-room atmosphere. The scene is highly symmetrical and ceremonial, with Corda Mortis as the absolute focal point. Dramatic red and black palette, glowing embers, ominous shadows, epic dark fantasy mood, intricate details, cinematic lighting, ultra-detailed, highly atmospheric, baroque infernal aesthetic.
Process
It all started with the image of the demon a few months ago. It’s design evolved over time until I was content with it’s look. Then I thought about adding a lute, so that she could be a direct opponent of the Brother Macário character. So I had to design a Lute, that was the opposite of sober and restrained.
And then, I felt I needed a larger context, so I created a stage in Hell for her to perform.
