Short Description

ROOTED IN AI — Who Creates Whom?

A human sits at the root of an expanding artificial imagination. From a single machine, nature, technology, mythology, culture and impossible worlds emerge as one living organism.

Yet the creator is no longer simply operating the system. The roots have begun to grow around him, binding human and machine into the same structure.

The work explores the increasingly blurred relationship between creator and creation. As artificial intelligence becomes capable of extending human imagination beyond physical limits, a question remains:

Are we shaping AI, or is AI beginning to reshape us?

The vast white space represents the physical world—quiet, finite and almost empty—while the concentrated eruption of forms represents the limitless synthetic imagination emerging from a single point of human interaction.

A distant observer stands almost unnoticed in the background, introducing another question: are we witnessing creation, evolution, or simply the beginning of the next cycle?

Prompt Logic

The visual logic was built around one central metaphor: human → machine → root → creation.

Rather than presenting AI-generated elements as separate objects, the composition was developed as a single interconnected organism. A human creator is physically integrated into the roots while a laptop marked only “AI” becomes the origin point of the visual energy.

That energy travels upward through the organic structure and gradually transforms into different expressions of imagination—nature, human form, technology, movement, mythology, architecture and cultural memory.

Multiple iterations were used to remove unnecessary elements, avoid repetition and create visual continuity between otherwise unrelated forms. The environment was ultimately reduced to a monumental white gallery so that color, complexity and imagination remain concentrated almost entirely within the central structure.

The intention was not to visualize what AI can generate, but to visualize the changing relationship between the person who prompts and the system that creates with them.

Process

ROOTED IN AI evolved through a process of reduction rather than addition.

The earliest explorations were darker, denser and more cinematic, with multiple generated worlds competing for attention. While visually dramatic, they felt closer to fantasy imagery than the conceptual artwork I wanted to create.

I gradually removed repeated characters, simplified the visual hierarchy and connected the remaining elements through a single organic structure. The human figure became physically bound to the roots, while light from the AI device became the visual source from which the entire structure grows.

The most significant change was the environment. I replaced the dark fantasy setting with an almost empty white gallery. This created a deliberate contrast between the quiet physical space and the concentrated explosion of synthetic imagination at its center.

The final work therefore emerged not by asking AI to create more, but by repeatedly deciding what should disappear.

The process became a collaboration between generation and human selection—AI proposing possibilities, while I controlled meaning, composition, hierarchy and the final visual narrative.
