Margarida Barreto

Margarida Barreto is a Portuguese Creative Director, AI artist, author, and educator with over 20 years of experience in design and visual communication. Her practice explores the intersection of generative AI, visual storytelling, nature, and social impact, creating experimental imagery and films that question our relationship with technology and the natural world. She is the author of The MidJourney Expedition, published by Packt Publishing, and co-founder of CIA – Comunidade de Inteligência Artificial, a Portuguese community dedicated to AI literacy and education. Alongside her artistic practice, Margarida teaches generative AI and regularly contributes to international talks, workshops, exhibitions, and creative communities.
