HAPPY EASTER
Short Description
A symbol of celebration collides with a symbol of destruction.
This piece reimagines a hand grenade as an Easter egg, decorated with pastel colours, flowers and a delicate pink ribbon. It brings together two opposing visual languages: innocence and violence, celebration and destruction, renewal and loss.
The image is deliberately inviting at first glance, almost playful, before the object reveals its darker identity. That contradiction turns a familiar symbol of Easter into an uncomfortable anti-war reflection on innocence, fragility and the absurdity of violence.
Prompt Logic
The concept began with a visual contradiction: transforming one of the most recognisable symbols of destruction into an object associated with Easter, childhood and renewal.
The prompt logic was built around opposing attributes: military object vs. Easter egg, metal vs. satin, destruction vs. celebration, darkness vs. pastel colours.
The visual direction focused on a realistic hand grenade with the body decorated as a traditional Easter egg, using pastel pink, yellow, blue and purple, small floral motifs and a delicate pink satin bow. The object was photographed as a premium studio still life against a minimal white background, with subtle petals, soil and debris surrounding it.
The image was refined through several iterations to simplify the environment, increase the negative space and make the Easter reference immediately recognisable without losing the physical characteristics of the grenade.
