Selection Approach

I’m drawn to work that feels like it has a person behind it. Something specific in the idea or the image that makes me curious about who made it and how they got there.

I also look for a connection to the time we live in. It can be in the subject or simply in the visual language. I want to feel that the person making the work is paying attention to the world around them.

I like being surprised, as long as the surprise feels intentional. With AI especially, I’m interested in seeing what someone can make the tool do beyond the visual language we already know so well.

And in the end, I tend to choose the work that makes me stop and look again.
