This work explores the presence of a parallel layer of perception that exists alongside everyday reality.
The luminous creatures are neither childhood memories nor fantastical beings. They embody a way of being in the world that gradually becomes less accessible with age—not because it disappears, but because our attention slowly shifts toward structure, certainty, and function.
Placed within an abandoned urban space, they remain motionless, waiting. Their inner light contrasts with the surrounding darkness, suggesting that what seems to have disappeared may not have vanished at all—it may simply have become invisible.
The image was developed through many iterations.
I combined monumental translucent sculptural forms with abandoned architecture, carefully shaping the relationships between scale, light, atmosphere, and color.
Through repeated refinement, I adjusted proportions, transparency, lighting, and spatial balance until the image conveyed the feeling I was looking for.
The idea for this work began with a simple question: what if there are forms of presence that exist alongside us but gradually become inaccessible as our way of perceiving the world changes?
Rather than creating fantastical characters, I wanted to create sculptural forms that felt as though they genuinely belonged in this abandoned space. Finding that balance was the biggest challenge. Through many iterations, I refined their scale, transparency, light, and relationship to the architecture until they no longer felt like decorative objects, but like inhabitants of this place.
